Dewey Brunt III, PE, a project manager with Huitt-Zollars, Inc. has more than 35 years of experience in managing, planning, designing, and constructing projects in the private and public sectors. In the private sector, he has hands-on, multi-discipline object experience on a myriad of projects involving land development, canals and bulkheads, flood control, infrastructure maintenance and repairs, and dam spillways.
He also has experience in managing high-dollar, complex civil works projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District. Brunt has hands-on, multi-discipline project experience on coastal engineering projects involving deep and shallow-draft navigation, flood control, wetlands creation, erosion control, levees, hydraulic structures, dredging operations, pilings, foundations, and retaining walls. Brunt is a graduate of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Coastal Engineering Research Center (CERC) Coastal Engineering Course and the Facilities Engineering Course. He is a Certified Acquisition Professional, Level II.
Brunt received his Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Specialty: Coasting Engineering) from the University of Houston in 1979, and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston in 1975. In 1980, he received his professional engineering license in the state of Texas. Brunt was previously employed with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District from 1975 – 2006. Brunt started working at Huitt-Zollars, Inc. (Houston West office) in 2006.
